PAGE ONE
A great advantage to living in Wales is that we get so much rugby on TV. Much of it is on the Welsh language channel S4C and in Welsh so I thought a list of Welsh rugby terms would be useful.
One of the earliest users of natural-sounding Welsh terms in rugby articles was Dr Gwent Jones of Swansea. He resisted transliterating English terms into Welsh and substituted 'cefnwyr' for 'bacs' for example and other terms followed suit.
The terms were popularised by Eic Davies and the players and spectators soon began to use the terms too.
